Rochas: Poise with a capital P (fashion wire daily)

Paris - Rochas: poise with a capital P Godfrey Deeny 02nd March 2011 @ 3:20 PM - Paris poise, a word of Latin origin, meaning, substance or weight, even though in the sense not of mass, but the proof of a certain grace and refinement, the correct term seems, to describe the latest show of Rochas.

Poise was on the overriding mood of the classy autumn 2011 collection staged Wednesday, 2 March, in Paris, because this was a secure collection by a designer intention take on what it means to create a new, be chic today.

"I looked Google up for the word chic." It is a huge concept in fashion, and I didn't like one of the definitions, which I found, and the images on Google chic were worse, terrible. "So I thought we make a collection without references, just an attempt to create a new sense of what chic, is", explains Marco Zanini, who was Italian, the artistic direction of Rochas five seasons.

So instead of rifling through Rochas archives and his alleged DNA - what, the may be far from clear - Zanini began with carte blanche. He opened with short skirts stung sharp suits or smooth combined with cashmere tanks with mini graphic logos, to enjoy hats with models of the added jaunty nonchalance of Russian Astrakhan true URSS. He layered silk ribbons in some elegant flowing skirts and dresses. He cut with great precision double face cashmere coats with 50 just to big for the shoulder mounts.

Charlie Sheen: Thrown, but still around in repetitions (AP)

NEW YORK-"two and a half men" is a man.

But Charlie Sheen's brand does not mean that the hit sitcom or its recalcitrant star is going anywhere soon.

Production of the CBS series - TV's no. 1-sitcom - had for the rest of the season after actor's erratic wild parties, repeated hospitalizations and verbal salvos against his studio bosses was shut down.

The announcement on Monday, said Warner Bros.-TV, no decision on the continuation of the show without the sparkle that made the reported $1.8 million per episode due to a contract, which extended for a further year.

But even with the axing of the leading man "Men", leaves eight seasons of the hit show episodes sheen.

CBS has been "Men" air reruns for several weeks in the regular time slot on Mondays at 9 o'clock EST repeats of the show are also seen, in daily syndication and on cable's FX.

Come to think of it, feels Sheen's final round of the misconduct, such as a repeating over and over again, saw each of the actor, whose substance abuse and messy love life long before "Men" came claimed the attention of the public.

Sheen's hard living image was a great inspiration for the series.

Charlie Harper, its central figure, is a composer of jingles and freewheeling Bachelor, quickly premiere certified as the sitcom double by Charlie Sheen with the series in September 2003.

"I do a lot of money for very little work," said Charlie Harper. "I sleep with beautiful women, the questions not about my feelings." I drive a JAG. "I live on the beach."

Charlie was dweebish to his brother, lined up chiropractor, Alan (Jon Cryer), boasting with his wife had thrown him just out of the House. Alan and his then 10-year-old son, Jake (Angus t. Jones), were seeking refuge with the none too welcomes Charlie.

Voila! Two and a half men! The show was an immediate hit and remains a smash, this season with an average of 14.7 million viewers.

As a tribute to Charlie Sheen's wild life, the show is strictly sanitized for television broadcasts. However it is up to come in over the years.

At the premiere of Charlie Harper's latest conquest to him acknowledging, said "you are a bad, bad boy."

Charlie replied, "and you're still the one always lost."

But in a series of earlier this season, which last week was retelecast, we witness the spanking.

Admittedly, it was Alan, not Charlie, who the paddling action. And he was dressed in T-shirt alone on Charlie's bed spanking, and Tighty Whities go at a time of fantasy, "Is who's your Daddy?""Who's your Daddy?"

"Unfortunately, you are", says Jake young, now sullen the in on his father's indiscretion was gone.

Charlie Harper is to embody the ideal male existence, and no one longs Charlie more than his brother.

"My life is pathetic," Alan on last week moaned episode. "On the other hand, Charlie's life is great."

Charlie was easy way for the weekend. Alan moved Charlie's clothes, took over his identity and only in this way, hooked one up with a sexy girl. Then he brought back the Bachelor Pad, which he said that, that he owned.

Message: If we of men all then strive to Charlie (whether Harper or Sheen - it is only a matter of degree). Charlie world a warped sense of entitlement and a lack of moderation bitchin equal ' awesomeness.

This week, following a dilemma faced Charlie with his beautiful new girlfriend Michelle. She saw in their mid-30s. But then, he was shocked to learn that was their real age 47. This is four years older than Charlie!

Worse, she was mother to a 20-year old blonde siren.

What else could be Charlie but cut and run?

"If I have a relationship with Michelle on," he said Alan, "at some point, I'll try, her daughter nail."

But Alan had his own problem, which was directed by the episode's title, "Twanging Your Magic Clanger": he was, caught masturbating.

First, Charlie breaks in Alan's room and discovered him naked with a laptop on his bed next to him.

The next time he got busted on the living room with sofa-bed.

"I get it," said Charlie. "You are bored, you are lonely, you can not afford a whore."

None of these conditions apply to Charlie, of course. Not Charlie Harper, and certainly not Charlie Sheen, discharged, in his interviews, the world is less fortunate with awesomer as you contempt.

"I want me, not her life and you want to criticize you want, but the hell of it" he said last week on "Piers Morgan Tonight" rest at the loser, who challenge him.

Bottom line: no one is so awesome in Charlie world. The foolish tastenden Alan is a comic surrogate for the rest of us and watch "Men" we laugh at him, but it is painful recognition. We should envy Sheen in the meantime - self-aggrandized for his "Tiger blood" and "Bi winner" status - as he flaunts itself selectively as Charlie Harper.

All this is over, in a sense with his release. No new episodes of "Men" Star, you trigger the man. Perhaps, the series in his absence can not survive.

But reps are "two and a half men" live on. And chances are, shine is press madness which could hope no sitcom ever, with his real SideShow rivals.

LOS ANGELES - consider two parallel universes: Charlie Sheen is destined to hit rock bottom after being fired from the best job he'll ever have; Charlie Sheen has been freed to blaze a new path to dazzling fame and riches.

Speculation about the dueling scenarios swelled after Warner of Bros.. Television said Monday that Sheen's services on "two and a half men" had been terminated, effective immediately, following "careful consideration."

The studio said it's yet to decide the fate of TV's top-rated comedy which, under protest from Sheen, halted production for the season to allow the hard-partying actor to seek treatment for admitted drug use.

During his bitter tug - of - was career with the studio, attention focused on whether he on the vergé of killing his. Imperiling a hit show and a job that paid a reported $1.8 million on episode - or earning him north of $43 million a year - must be Sheen's undoing, observers said.

Not so fast, say others.

"At this point, all bets are off regarding where his career goes from here," said Paul Levinson, a Fordham University media professor. "Although nothing is certain where fame and celerity are concerned, Sheen's ubiquity in the past few weeks suggest that he could indeed go on to become a bigger superstar than (the sitcom) could ever had made him."

Opportunity may already have come knocking.

Sheen, 45, met with executives at Live Nation entertainment on Monday and is considering a series of stage shows, celebrity website RadarOnline said. Calls and e-mails to the concert promotion company weren't returned Monday.

The road beckoned another performer who clashed publicly with his employer: Conan O'Brien went on a nationwide concert tour after exiting NBC's "Tonight" over network plans to move the show.

Sheen also intends to sell a line of merchandise, phrases catch including T-shirts, hats and mugs, emblazoned with his, the website said. It's aimed at displacing what he called the "posers and bootleggers" making money off "Winning," "Adonis DNA" and his other memorable utterances, RadarOnline reported.

Before Sheen's firing, billionaire Mark Cuban said he''d contacted him about collaborating on a project that Cuban called a unique opportunity but declined to detail. It would'nt let the actor "be himself and have some fun," Cuban, who owns the HDNet cable network, told ESPN.

As comedian norm MacDonald tweeted before Sheen which kicked off "men": "I pray that someone can help (at sign) CharlieSheen before he becomes even more successful, richer and happier."

In texts to the associated press after Warner's decision, Sheen dismissed his bosses with the F-word, saying "they loose" and calling them "trolls." Asked if he planned to sue, Sheen texted back: "Big." As for his next move, Sheen texted, "A big one."

A call to his attorney, Marty singer, for comment what not returned Monday. CBS declined to comment.

The firing capped a rarely open, raging battle between a Hollywood star and those who employ him, with Sheen claiming the right to live as he pleased - including the acknowledged use of illegal drugs, although he's said he is currently clean - as long as he showed up sober and ready to work.

"Two and a half men," which debuted in 2003, Sheen stars as womanizing bachelor Charlie Harper, who creates on ad hoc family with his neurotic brother, the divorced Alan (Jon Cryer) and Alan's son, Jake (Angus t. Jones).

Sheen's life has long been rocky but - either despite of that or because of it - vignette embraced him.

The show was co-created by veteran producer Chuck Lorre, who contributes two other comedies to the top-rated CBS lineup, "the big bang theory" and "Mike & Molly." Like "Men," both are produced with Warner.

Sheen focused many of his attacks on Lorre, and in the end the studio "went with the hit-maker," said media industry analyst Shari Anne Brill.

The immediate question for Warner and CBS is whether to keep the show alive by bringing in a new cast member to join Cryer and Jones - the one-and-a-half men left.

"They didn't say the show what canceled." "They said hey what canceled," said Brill. "So the door is still open for another season."

Shows have replaced stars before and survived. When Valerie Harper left "Valerie" after the 1986-87 season in a dispute with producers, the show what renamed "the Hogan family," Sandy Duncan was brought in to play a new character and the sitcom continued until 1991.

Drew Carey, who starred in and co-created "the Drew Carey show," which asked about the possibility before Sheen's firing.

"All you have to is bring in someone you can plug into a Charlie Sheen-like character and deliver those kinds of lines." "There are 100 actors who could do it," said Carey, host of "the price is right."

Carey said he wasn't dismissing Sheen's comedic talent and acknowledged that ratings might suffer if viewers are reluctant to accept a new actor in a new role. Holland Taylor, who plays Sheen's mother, called him "the brand of the show" in an interview last summer.

The studio could save money by paying the substitute far less than Sheen's salary and extend the life of the lucrative series by another season or two.

Warner and CBS had long faced a balancing act with Sheen as he underwent rehab and two ugly splits from wives No.. 2 (Denise Richards) and no.. 3 (Brooke Mueller sheen). On one side was the wayward star, on the other what TV's most successful and highly lucrative sitcom, anchoring Monday for CBS and making hundreds of millions of dollars for Warner.

Last month, Warner of cancelled the remaining eight episodes of what what intended to be a 24-episode season of "Men," citing Sheen's public behavior and rants against Lorre.

In a series of interviews, including with ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's "Today" show, Sheen boasted about his "epic" partying, said he's fueled by "violent hatred" of his bosses and called his home "Sober Valley Lodge."

There what public fascination with the gloves-off battle. When Sheen added Twitter to the arsenal, he gained 1 million followers in just 25 hours, leading Guinness world records to establish a new category and crown him the champion. He now has over well 2 million followers.

But Sheen's professional conflict devolved into a custody battle over his 23-month-old twin sons with estranged wife Mueller sheen. She used his public remarks, as well as conduct she claimed what threatening and violent, to seek a court order removing the children from his home last week.

CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves, interviewed at an investors' conference Monday morning, sidestepped the sheen controversy when it what brought up by Deutsche Bank analyst Doug Mitchelson.

When Moonves discussed controlling series' costs by making "adjustments," such as Moonves had ever "Let's say, not renewing some high-priced actors," Mitchelson asked if successfully replaced a show's lead actor before. Moonves remained silent, and the analyst apologized and said he' (d) promised "no Charlie Sheen questions."

CBS is owned by CBS Corp., whose shares were up 6 cents at $23.68 in after hours trading Monday after closing down 34 cents, or 1.4 percent, at $23.62 in the regular session. Shares of Warner of Bros. records. parent Time Warner Inc. were down a penny at $36.77 in the extended session after losing 47 cents, or 1.3 percent, to close at $36.78.

The market had closed before the statement about Sheen's firing was released by Warner.
